POORAM - A festival of State Kerala,India

Pooram is the most colourful of all the temple festivals of Kerala. It is celebrated in Thrissur at Vadakkumnathan temple in the month of Medam (April) where the regaining deity is Lord Shiva. Situated on a hillock right in the centre of the city, the spaciously laid out 'kshetram' or temple attracts thousands of devotees from all over the land during the Pooram festival.It is a magnificent spectacle with fireworks, umbrella showing competition and a splendid elephant procession.The best elephants of the state from the various temples in Kerala are sent to Thrissur to participate in the Pooram festival.At 3' 0 Clock in the night spectacular display of fireworks begins. It lasts till 6' 0 clock in the morning. By afternoon the festival ends.

Bulgarian football against racism

The first national conference against racism in Bulgarian football produced huge debates and some fierce reactions. The organising committee came to the conclusion that the event was very useful in stopping discriminatory actions and taking preventive measures among the new generation. The event was organised in co-operation with UEFA and was the first step in a series of activities designed to raise awareness of the issues and underline football’s determination to tackle them.

Bulgarian football clubs, players and fan clubs were represented, as well as the sport’s governing bodies, representatives of the police and education. All of them pointed out the determination to fight this problem. Special guests at the event, representing UEFA and FARE network, were Kurt Wachter from Austria and Valeriu Nicolae from Romania.

Foreigners, who have command of English, can apply for such a form of education. In order to examine their English proficiency, they sit for an entrance test.

Preparatory academic year;

• for students 2 700 Euro

• for foreign doctor's degree applicants and post graduate stu­ dents - 1 350 EuroThe fees for doctor's degree applicants and post graduate students are valid when the education organized in students group. In case of individual education fees differ according to the number of stu­dents.

• Tuition fee 4 000 Euro

• Tuition fee for Ph.D. and residents - 4 300 Euro

• Tuition fee for part-time doctor's degree education - 3 000 Euro
